At a Kairos Dancing Heart Program curriculum planning meeting William Blake showed up twice to help inform the discussion.
Nancy began with
“To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.”
Clearly an operating principle for the Kairos Dancing Heart Program.
Peter elaborated with a little more Blake.
“He who binds to himself a joy
Doth the winged life destroy.
He who kisses the joy as it flies,
Lives in eternity’s sunrise.”
OK. . .it’s a plan. . .make it so~~~! ~Peter
I love Blake too!
“Love seeketh not Itself to please,
Nor for itself hath any care,
But for another gives its ease,
And builds a Heaven in Hell’s despair.”
So sung a little Clod of Clay
Trodden with the cattle’s feet,
But a Pebble of the brook
Warbled out these metres meet:
Love seeketh only Self to please,
To bind another to Its delight,
Joys in another’s loss of ease,
And builds a Hell in Heaven’s despite.”
very beautiful~~! thank you Joan. I’d love to mix poetry and dance some time~~~Peter
It would be fun to get together and declaim, or else use it as part of a dance?
