Today I was fortunate to take part in 3 separate Dancing Heart sessions.  The Morning was at Wilder’s Adult Day Program at 650 Marshall in St. Paul.  The folks there are great participators and the circle was filled with highly individualized dancing in no time flat.  We’re hoping to see quite a few of them at the daytime show we’re running with Ida and Irv 11am next Wednesday 4/14/10 at InterMedia Arts.

The second Dancing Heart of the day was the first session of a 12 week series for an Ebenezer Adult Day Program at Ridges in Burnsville.  It was definitely a case of making good friends all over again.  This experience really drives home the basic goodness and friendliness of people for me.  It felt like we’d known each other for a long time.  I was thrilled to dance with a lady whose birthday was today.  She was born in 1916 and when I checked if she’d like to rest she said, “I want to be on my feet!” so we ended up dancing for quite a while, seeing as how it was her birthday and everything.

The third Dancing Heart session was already in progress and in high energy when I joined it in the Ridges chapel, right in the middle of a run-through of a show  by the residents we’ve been working on for months.  It’s got songs from several different musicals connected by  an adapted narrative of the real-life romantic adventure of a real-life couple there.  The show’s getting pretty stage-ready now and we’re working on finding a venue to share it.

It was a heavenly day in the circles today.~~~Peter
