Today Peter and I danced with a group of elders – some who speak Russian and others who have English as their first language.
This was my second time with the group- usually they meet separately but have come together to dance and tell some stories (with translation!).
After dancing a good-bye to summer to “Summertime” on the steel drums, we welcomed the rainy day by dancing and singing “O What a Beautiful Morning. Some days you have to just imagine the sun is shining.
Our gesture dance of joy and grief included imagining holding a new-born baby, packing and unpacking during many moves, enjoying a bouncing grandchild, missing a beloved spouse and feeling utterly exhilarated after a bucket bath.
Welcome to both rainy and sunny days!
